المستخلص: Learners of a second/foreign language face many difficulties and problems in their attempt to acquire and learn a new language. These difficulties are unavoidable due to the fact that learning a new language beside your native language requires learning new sounds, rules, features and so on. A part of these difficulties are those that L1 Arabic students face in their attempt to learn English language determiners. L1 Arabic students commit many errors and mistakes when using determiners in the English Language. These errors and mistakes are considered one of the most frequent problems L1 Arabic speaking learners face. This could be due to the fact that determiners are one of the most frequent words used in the English language. As a result, studying the reasons behind such errors and the sources to such difficulties is a necessity. In the aim of helping Arabic native speakers overcome these problems, research in these areas must be followed. By studying previous research and carrying on further investigation in the area of determiner use in the English language, especially by L1 Arabic learners, sources of error and reasons behind difficulties in learning determiners have been pinpointed.
