المستخلص: أحمد مطر شاعر عراقي، عانى ما عانى من ظلم واضطهاد بسبب سلاحه الذي هاجم به كل مقصر ومستبد وظالم من حكام ومسؤولين وأصحاب مناصب عليا في البلد، لأنه يحس بالمسؤولية اتجاه أبناء بلده ويحمل همومهم أينما حل وارتحل. إن من أهم الأسباب التي تجعل الشاعر يسخر من عيوب ونواقص مجتمعه هو شعوره بالحيف والظلم في مجتمع مضطرب فقدت فيه العدالة الاجتماعية إذ أن فقدان العدالة ينتج مجتمعا يسوده قانون الغاب. إن مهارة شاعرنا وموهبته في إضفاء جو الفكاهة والتهكم في شعره بقصدية رمزية جعلت منه محط شبهات أنه ضد السلطة الحاكمة وهذه شكلت حقيقة تميزه عن غيره من شعراء العربية المعاصرين لان شاعرنا وظفها بوعي خدمة لبناء نص عربي جديد حتى إن السخرية شكلت طابعا مميزا لإعماله الشعرية وصارت علامة يمكن أن يلمسها القارئ لشعره. نظرا للواقع الذي يعيشه البلد ما كان من أحمد مطر إلا اللجوء إلى السخرية الناقدة واللاذعة من هذا الواقع، والتي تعمل على التخفيف من حدة ألامه. ويقول جبران خليل جبران في هذا الصدد هذا العالم... صعب وخائن ولا يطاق. يجب أن يمتلك الإنسان سلاح السخرية وسلاح القوة لكي يستطيع أن يحاربه حتى الموت. و"السخرية" كونها "فناً راقياً" يحتاج إلى الذكاء والفكر وأعمال العقل كما ذكرنا آنفا، لذلك فهي سلاح خطير في يد الفلاسفة والكتاب بوجه السياسات الظالمة المستبدة المتحكمة بمصائر الشعوب، كما انهم يستخدمونها في نقد العادات والتقاليد البالية في المجتمع وأمراضه الكثيرة من جهل وتخلف ونفاق. وهذا ما فعله الشاعر في شعره، حيث "استوعب تجارب حياته" المناهضة للأنظمة لدكتاتورية القائمة على الظلم والقهر والاستبداد وقد تولى أمر مهاجمتها "بخطاباته النقدية اللاذعة المملؤة "حرية" وازدراء وفق آليات" جعلها "تخدم أغراضه وموضوعاته التي فضح بها أبعاد التفكير واستراتيجيات السياسة لدى الحكام الذين زرعوا الرعب في قلوب شعوبهم بالملاحقة والتربص والظلم والقهر والقتل وتبديل الأمن بالخوف دون وجه حق، وقد اتخذ الشاعر أسلوبا متميزا في السخرية من الظلم الذي يراه جرّاء فساد الحكام وجبروتهم.

" And "irony" being "high art" requires intelligence, thought and actions of the mind as mentioned above, therefore it is a dangerous weapon in the hands of philosophers "and the book" in the face of oppressive and tyrannical policies that control the fate of peoples, as "they use it" to criticize the worn out customs and traditions in society And his many diseases of "ignorance, backwardness and hypocrisy. This is "what the poet did in his poetry", as he "absorbed the experiences of his life" against the regimes of a dictatorship based on injustice, oppression and tyranny. Dimensions of thinking and policy strategies of the rulers who sowed terror in the hearts of their "people after pursuit and stalking", injustice, oppression, and murder.
