المستخلص: يأتي الاهتمام بموضوع البحث في اختيار مجال صناعة الأسرة بوصفها أحد الصناعات المهمة عالمياً التي شهدت تطوراً واضحاً وملموساً من خلال السنوات الأخيرة، للبحث في تصاميم هذه المنتجات وذلك لأهميتها الوظيفية فظهرت في السنوات الأخيرة ظاهرة صغر المساحات في السكن بسبب الكثافة السكانية فيما أدت المساحات الصغيرة الحاجة إلى إيجاد قطع أثاث تناسب هذه المساحات الصغيرة. وعلى هذا الأساس كان هدف البحث هو التوصل إلى أساليب تصميمية للأسرة المزدوجة موظفة للمساحات الصغيرة اشتملت عينة البحث على الأسرة المزدوجة المصنعة في المعامل صناعة الأثاث المحلية في بغداد شملت بحث الأسرة المزدوجة ذات الطابقين. تركز البحث في أربعة فصول تناول الأول منها مشكلة البحث وأهميته وأهدافه وحدوده فضلاً عن تحديد بعض المصطلحات الخاصة بموضوع البحث. وتناول الإطار النظري في الفصل الثاني مباحث عدة تمثلت بالمحاور الأساسية لتصميم الأسرة المزدوجة، مثل التعريف بأنواع وأشكال الأسرة ذات الطابقين زيادة عن وظائفها ودواعي استخدامها من خلال أساسيات ملائمة قياسات وزوايا المنتج لأبعاد جسم الإنسان وتوفير القدر الكافي من الراحة في أثناء الاستخدام وبالتالي كفاءة عمل المنتج، وتضمن الفصل الآخر مبحث خاص بالأثاث والأسرة المزدوجة، وكل ما يتضمنه مفهوم الأثاث وأنواع وأشكال الأسرة المزدوجة وقياسات آلية جسم الإنسان أما المبحث الثاني فتضمن نظام المساحات الصغيرة وتوجهاتها التصميمية. وتضمن هذا المبحث دراسة لأوضاع الجلوس المختلفة والاستلقاء والمساحات الكافية له، فضلاً عن دراسة إمكانيات الحركة في بناء العمود الفقري للإنسان وعلاقته بتصميم الأسرة المزدوجة. وعنى مبحث الثالث بدور التكنولوجيا في تغير النظم التصميمية للأسرة ذات الطابقين، واحتوى هذا المبحث دراسة حول الملائمة الوظيفية لاجزاء الأسرة ذات الطابقين من خلال مخططاً لقياسات جسم الإنسان وتفصيلاته. اعتمد الباحث في إجراءاته على تصميم استمارة تحليل استنبطت محاورها من خلال المؤشرات التي أفرزتها الدراسة النظرية فضلاً عن الزيارات الميدانية للباحث إلى المعامل الأهلية لصناعة الأسرة المزدوجة والمساحات الصغيرة.
