The Algerian Hirak which broke out on February 22, 2019 against Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s fifth term project has broken with a political system rooted in the country for more than half a century. The Algerians took to the streets to say “NO” to this project and to ask for the departure of the representatives of power. On their placards, they expressed, with different linguistic and rhetorical methods, their anger and their dissatisfaction. Through this study, we focus on lexical creativity in its humorous dimension in the placards of Algerian protesters. We aim to detect the mechanisms of the staging of the humorous discourse and its exploitation in the expression and the claim of the rights, by the Algerian demonstrators. "Why do Algerians use humor and what humorous forms do they use?" is a question that has been worrying us since the outbreak of demonstrations. Algerian protesters resort to the creation of new linguistic units or to the diversion of others to use it in humorous statements. It is a question of telescoping and suppletism. They use different languages and rhetorical methods and even imitate advertising forms such as the slogan and the advertisement to get their message across to the whole world.
