المستخلص: The study aimed at getting acquainted with the degree of political awareness among students of Mu’tah University towards extremism and terrorism, through recognizing the extent of their perception of the apparent different dimensions, and the nature of their impact on Jordan, and how to confront them. The study depended on the analytical descriptive method to achieve the objectives of the study by employing the statistical surveying of the study sample that consisted of Mu’tah University students in the academic year (2018-2019) when their number amounted to (18714) male and female students. The questionnaire had been distributed to a random sample representing the community of the study which consisted of (500) male and female students with a rate of (2.5%) from the gross total of the community of study individuals. The sample included (200) male and female students from faculties of humanities, and (300) male and female students from scientific faculties. The results of study showed that the degree of political awareness among students of Mu’tah University towards extremism and terrorism came high with an arithmetic mean of (3.903) In addition, there are no statistically significant differences in the degree of political awareness among students of Mu’tah University towards extremism and terrorism due to differences in the variables of gender, college, study year, and monthly income. Also, there are statistically significant differences due to the variable of watching political news. The study recommends the necessity of containing the role of the university in enhancing the political awareness among students towards the phenomenon of extremism and terrorism, and enhancing the role of students by means that are employed by terrorist groups to spread the terrorist thinking and pushing individuals to extremism.

هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على درجة الوعي السياسي لدى طلبة جامعة مؤتة تجاه التطرف والإرهاب، وذلك من خلال الوقوف على مدى الوعي للأبعاد المختلفة للظاهرة، وطبيعة تأثيرها على الأردن، وكيفية مواجهتها. واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة باستخدام المسح الإحصائي لمجتمع الدراسة، والذي تكون من طلبة جامعة مؤتة خلال العام الدراسي 2018-2019، والبالغ عددهم (18714) طالبا وطالبة، وقد تم بناء استبانة كأداة لجمع بيانات الدراسة، وتم توزيع الاستبانة على عينة عشوائية ممثلة لمجتمع الدراسة مكونة من (500) طالب وطالبة، ما نسبته (2.5%) من إجمالي أفراد مجتمع الدراسة، بواقع (200) طالب وطالبة من الكليات الإنسانية، و(300) طالب وطالبة من الكليات العلمية. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن درجة الوعي السياسي لدى طلبة جامعة مؤتة تجاه التطرف والإرهاب جاءت مرتفعة بمتوسط حسابي (3.903)، بالإضافة لعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين درجة الوعي السياسي لدي طلبة جامعة مؤتة تجاه التطرف والإرهاب باختلاف متغيرات: الجنس، والكلية، والسنة الدراسية، ومكان الإقامة، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية باختلاف متغير مدى متابعة الأخبار السياسية. وقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة استمرار دور الجامعة في تعزيز الوعي السياسي لدى الطلبة تجاه ظاهرة التطرف والإرهاب، وتعزيز وعيهم تجاه الوسائل التي تستخدمها الجماعات الإرهابية في دفع الأفراد للطرف.
