The colonizers cry out their hostility and animosity; whatever experience they went through, they express a need to speak of themselves. Essentially, the theme of exile provides an insight into the exiled state of mind. It is a curse and damnation, a punishment, a psychological burden which is the exile’s essential source of pain. It “is not, after all, a matter of choice: you are bom into it, or it happens to you” (Said,2003:184). The exile is oriented to a distant place and feels that he does not belong where he lives. Usually he longs to return to the homeland and anticipates the joy of return. It is a story of disorientation, of a crisis of belonging. It implies damnation, castigation, diffidence, anguish and also salvation and a everlasting hope for return.
