المستخلص: تلعب المصادر الأثرية دورا مهما في بناء أو إعادة بناء التاريخ المغاربي القديم. وتعزز أيضا معرفتنا بماضينا ويوفر مواد مهمة لم يكن ممكنا الحصول عليها بسهولة. وتتنوع هذه المصادر وتتعدد من حيث الصنع والأسلوب والأهمية أو الفترة التاريخية التي تنتمي إليها، بحيث لا يمكن احتساب كل هذه المصادر من حيث أنواعها وأهميتها. بعضها ظاهر للعيان وبعضها الأخر لا يزال تحت التراب وسبيلنا الوحيد إليها هو التنقيبات الأثرية ... والمصادر الأثرية هي في الأساس الأدلة المادية التي تعطي معلومات مهمة ومفصلة تتعلق بفترة معينة مثل المباني التاريخية والعملات الفخار والأختام والآثار والكتابات واللوحات على الأحجار أو الجدران والأدوات والمجوهرات والعظام وقطع المعادن والنقوش وبالأخص النقوش اللاتينية التي تشكل مصدرا أمينا لتوثيق كتابة تاريخ المغرب القديم، وتأكيد لجوانب من الحياة اليومية الخاصة والعامة في العهد الروماني. جمعت هذه النقوش ونشرت في إصدارات موثوقة من جميع النقوش المعروفة آنذاك. والجزائر لها نصيب وافر منها. فما هي أصناف هذه النقوش ومجالاتها وقيمتها التاريخية؟.

Archaeological sources play an important role in building or reconstructing the ancient history of the Maghreb. And also enhances our knowledge of our past and provides important material that couldn’t have been obtained easily. And these sources are varied and numerous in terms of make, style, importance, or historical period to which they belong, so that all of these sources wastes can't be counted in terms of their types and importance. Some of them are visible and others are still underground, and our only way to reach it is through archaeological excavations . the Archaeological sources are basically the material evidence that gives important and detailed information pertaining to a particular period, like historical buildings, coins, Pottery, seals, monuments, writings and paintings on stones or walls, tools, jewellery, bones, pieces of metals, and inscriptions especially Latin inscriptions, which constitute a reliable source for documenting the writing of the history of ancient Maghreb, and emphasize aspects of daily private and public life in Roman era, These Latin inscriptions were collected and published in authoritative works of all known inscriptions at the time, and the Algeria has a lot of them. And what are the types, fields and historical value of these Inscriptions?
