"يتناول البحث الإطار المعرفي للاستشراق، وتوضيح مفهوم الاستشراق من جميع الجهات، إلى جانب تعريف من هو المستشرق وبداية ظهور المستشرقين الغريبين الذين يدرسون تاريخ الشرق، كما عرض البحث تصنيفا للمشرقين سواء المتعصب منهم الذي يسئ إلى الشرق أو المنصف العادل والموضوعي لما يتناوله من أحداث. وكذلك ألقى البحث الضوء على أهداف المستشرقين وأساليبهم ووسائلهم المختلفة، وعرض الاستشراق الإنجليزي كنموذج للاستشراق الغربي، لأنه أول وأوثق ما عرفته أوروبا من استشراق، منذ اتصال بريطانيا بالشرقين الأوسط والأقصى اتصالا ثقافيا وعسكريا واقتصاديا واستعماريا، وقد اتبع الاستشراق الإنجليزي وسائل مختلفة حيث درس اللغات الشرقية في ٥٦ جامعة ومعهدا على رأسهم جامعة أكسفورد، وسلط الضوء على ثلاثة من أبرز المستشرقين الإنجليز مع ذكر نبذة توضيحية لأعمالهم."

The research also shed light on the aims of orientalists and their different methods and means, and presented English Orientalism as a model for Western Orientalism, because it is the first and most reliable of what Europe has known of Orientalism, since Britain’s contact with the Middle and Far East, culturally, militarily, economically, and colonialist, and English Orientalism has followed various methods where He studied oriental languages in 56 universities and institutes, headed by the University of Oxford, and highlighted three of the most prominent English orientalists with an illustrative profile of their works."
