المستخلص: يعتبر البحث العلمي بصفة عامة والبحث الاجتماعي بصفة خاصة عملية منظمة للتوصل إلى حلول لمشكلات، أو إجابات عن تساؤلات تستخدم فيها أساليب في الاستقصاء والملاحظة مقبولة ومتعارف عليها بين الباحثين، ويمكن أن تؤدي إلى معرفة جديدة وهذا في مختلف المجالات وميادين البحث العلمي بما فيها مجال العلوم الاجتماعية بصفة عامة وعلم الاجتماع بصفة خاصة، وتشكل كل هذه الأساليب المختلفة والخطوات والإجراءات التي يتبعها الباحث بما يعرف بالمنهج والمنهجية. حيث يعتبر المنهج الطريقة التي يتبعها الباحث أو الخطة العامة أو الإطار الذي يرسمه لتحقيق أهداف بحثه. ولا شك بأن طبيعة البحث والدراسة في العلوم الاجتماعية بصفة عامة وعلم الاجتماع بصفة خاصة هي التي تحدد بشكل حاسم المنهج المستخدم. وقد تكون هذه المناهج كمية أو كيفية أي حسب طبيعة البحث-كمي أو كيفي. ونظراً لأهمية البحث العلمي بصفة عامة والبحث الاجتماعي بصفة خاصة في تحقيق النمو والتقدم في المجتمع وحتى تكون نتائج هذا البحث ذو فائدة وذات مصداقية يجب تصميمه بكل موضوعية وإتباع المنهج العلمي أو المناهج العلمية المناسبة في تقصي الظاهرة محل الدراسة خاصة وأن الظواهر الاجتماعية تتميز وتختلف عن غيرها من الظواهر. وفي هذا الإطار جاءت هذه الورقة البحثية تهدف إلى المساهمة في إزالة الغموض. والتناقض بين ما هو كمي وكيفي في البحث الاجتماعي والتأكيد على مبدأ التكامل بين ما هو كمي وكيفي في العلوم الاجتماعية بصفة عامة وعلم الاجتماع بصفة خاصة. وهذا من خلال التطرق إلى أهمية المقاربة بين المناهج الكمية والمناهج الكيفية في العلوم الاجتماعية بصفة عامة وعلم الاجتماع بصفة خاصة.

Where the approach is the method used by the researcher, the general plan, or the framework that he draws to achieve his research objectives. There is no doubt that it is the nature of research and study in the social sciences in general and sociology in particular that decisively determines the method used. These approaches may be quantitative or qualitative, that is, depending on the nature of the research - quantitative or qualitative. Given the importance of scientific research in general and social research in particular in achieving growth and progress in society, and in order for the results of this research to be useful and credible, it must be designed with all objectivity and follow the scientific method or appropriate scientific methods in investigating the phenomenon under study, especially since social phenomena are distinguished and It differs from other phenomena. In this context, this research paper aims to contribute to removing ambiguity. And the contradiction between what is quantitative and qualitative in social research and the emphasis on the principle of complementarity between what is quantitative and qualitative in Social sciences in general and sociology in particular. This is by addressing the importance of the approach between quantitative and qualitative approaches in the social sciences in general and sociology in particular.
