المستخلص: Le désengagement progressif de l’État algérien du financement de la santé, durant les années 90, avait laissé la place à la Sécurité sociale dont les dépenses de santé ont alors connu une constante croissance à cause de la prise en charge de pathologies lourdes telles que le diabète et l’hypertension. À partir de données empiriques, notre article ambitionne à comprendre, dans un contexte où l’Algérie est confrontée à une forte hausse des besoins de santé, la logique du financement et des dépenses de santé en soulignant l’impact sanitaire sur la population.

The gradual withdrawal of the Algerian government from financing healthcare during the 90s had been replaced by Social Security. Then, the latter’s health care spending then increased steadily because of taking heavy loads disease such as diabetes and hypertension. Using empirical data, our article aims to understand, in a context where Algeria is facing a sharp rise in health needs, the logic of financing and health expenditure highlighting the health impact on the population.
