المستخلص: In the present study, we propose to analyze the topic of contemporary Scheherazade in the film entitled La Nouba des femmes du Mont Chenoua (1978) made by Assia Djebar. Indeed, the sultana of the Thousand and One Nights is embodied, among other things, in the skin of the protagonist Lila, a young woman who, along with her daughter and her handicapped husband, joins her hometown, Mont Chenoua, after the Algerian War. Finding the new Sheherazade(s), that is to say her compatriots, she indulges in a long meditation with a permanent back and forth between past and present, tradition and modernity, men and women, etc. To study this corpus, we will implement lacanian psychoanalysis by resorting to concepts such as “the unconscious” or “the mirror stage”.

Dans le présent travail, nous proposons d’analyser la thématique de la Shéhérazade contemporaine dans le film La Nouba des femmes du Mont Chenoua (1978) d’Assia Djebar. En effet, la sultane des Mille et une Nuits s’incarne, entre autres, dans la peau de la protagoniste Lila, une jeune femme qui, en compagnie de sa fille et de son mari handicapé, rejoint sa région natale, le Mont Chenoua, après la guerre d’Algérie. En retrouvant les nouvelles Shéhérazade(s), c’est-à-dire ses compatriotes, elle se livre à une longue méditation avec un permanent va-et-vient entre passé et présent, tradition et modernité, hommes et femmes, etc. Pour étudier ce corpus, nous allons nous servir de la psychanalyse lacanienne en recourant à des concepts comme celui de l’inconscient ou encore le stade du miroir.
