المستخلص: Despite attempts to modernize the poultry sector in Algeria, the latter remains highly dependent on external inputs, and has benefited from the protection of the public authorities and has so far remained sheltered from foreign competition. The objective of this study is to examine the obstacles to the development of the local poultry sector.

Malgré les tentatives de modernisation de la filière avicole en Algérie, cette dernière reste très dépendante vis-à-vis de l’extérieur en matière d’intrants, de plus cette dernière a bénéficié de la protection des pouvoirs publics et elle est restée jusqu'à maintenant à l’abri de toute concurrence étrangère. L’objectif général de cette étude, est de s’interroger sur les entraves au développement de la filière avicole locale.
