Public organizations face many challenges in competition from the private sector, and it has become imperative for them to rise in an integrated and growing manner to keep pace with the rapid changes and developments in all elements of success and excellence, the most important of which is strategic management as it is the focus and focus of the attention of advanced organizations because of its critical impact on the growth process progress and achieving the goals that these organizations seek to achieve. The efficiency and effectiveness of any organization is linked to the quality of the service provided and the extent of citizens’ satisfaction. In achieving this quality, the administration relies on providing a distinct working environment and environment that enables maximizing the output and results that contribute to rationalizing the use of available material and human resources and achieving the goals of the organization and society. The subject of sustainable development has received great attention in various fields, and interest in it is increasing day by day, and any organization in general seeks to achieve a high degree of sustainable development as one of the main competitive advantages on which organizations will depend in the twenty-first century. From this point of view, the current research was concerned with examining the role of strategic planning for university education services in Alexandria Governorate in achieving sustainable development, as educational organizations are among the most vital and strategic sectors that affect the daily life of all members of society, and an entrance to the growth of any country, to reach prosperity.
تواجه المنظمات العامة كثيراً من التحديات في المنافسة من القطاع الخاص، وأصبح من المحتم عليها أن تنهض بشكل متكامل ومتنامي لمواكبة التغيرات المتسارعة والمستجدات في كافة عناصر النجاح والتميز والتي من أهمها الإدارة الاستراتيجية باعتبارها محور وبؤرة اهتمام المنظمات المتقدمة لما لها من تأثير بالغ الأهمية في عملية النمو والتقدم وتحقيق الأهداف التي تسعى هذه المنظمات لتحقيقها وترتبط كفاءة وفاعلية أي منظمة بمدى جودة الخدمة المقدمة ومدى رضاء المواطنين، وتعتمد الإدارة في تحقيق تلك الجودة على توفير مناخ وبيئة عمل متميزة تمكن من تعظيم الناتج والنتائج التي تساهم في ترشيد استخدام الموارد المادية والبشرية المتاحة وتحقيق أهداف المنظمة والمجتمع. وقد حظي موضوع التنمية المستدامة باهتمام كبير في مختلف الميادين ويتزايد الاهتمام به يوماً بعد يوم، وتسعى أي منظمة بصفة عامة إلى تحقيق درجة عالية من التنمية المستدامة كأحد الميزات التنافسية الأساسية التي سوف تعتمد عليها المنظمات في القرن الحادي والعشرين. ومن هذا المنطلق اهتم البحث الحالي ببحث دور التخطيط الاستراتيجي لخدمات التعليم الجامعي في محافظة الإسكندرية في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، حيث أن المنظمات التعليمية من أهم القطاعات الحيوية والاستراتيجية التي تمس الحياة اليومية لكل أفراد المجتمع ومدخل لنمو لأي دولة للوصول إلى الرفاهية.
