المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى قياس مستوى مقروئية كتاب الأحياء للصف الحادي عشر في سلطنة عمان وعلاقته بالتحصيل الدراسي للطلبة، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، استخدم الباحثان المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في دراستهما، كما أعدا اختبار التتمة (كلوز) لثمانية نصوص من كتاب الأحياء لقياس مستوى مقروئيتها، طبقت على عينة اختيرت عشوائيا مكونة من (94) طالبا وطالبة من طلبة الصف الحادي عشر من مدرستين من المدارس الحكومية التابعة لمديرية التربية بمحافظة مسقط، منهم (46) طالبا و(48) طالبة. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى النتائج التالية: أن مستوى مقروئية كتاب الأحياء للصف الحادي عشر مناسبة للطلبة في هذه المرحلة التعليمية، حيث بلغت نسبة الطلبة في المستوى فوق الإحباطي (74.2%) وهو مجموع نسب الطلبة في المستويين المستقل والتعليمي. وأظهرت أيضا أن مستوى مقروئية الطالبات للنصوص أعلى من مستوى المقروئية لدى الطلاب، حيث تبين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في درجات الطلبة الكلية على اختبار التتمة ولصالح الطالبات. ومن جانب أخر وجد أن هنالك علاقة ارتباطية قوية بين متوسط مقروئية جميع النصوص لجميع الطلبة ومتوسط التحصيل الدراسي لجميع الطلبة. كما بينت أن مستوى تحصيل الطالبات الدراسي أعلى من مستوى تحصيل الطلاب. وعلى ضوء النتائج أوصى الباحثان بالاهتمام بقياس مقروئية كتب المواد الدراسية المختلفة، والتحقق من مناسبتها لمستوى الفئة أو المرحلة التي أعدت لها، وذلك من خلال تجربتها وقياس مقروئية نصوصها قبل تعميمها.

The present study aimed to assessing the level of the readability of the 11th grade biology book in the Sultanate of Oman and its relation to the academic achievement as well as its relation to the gender of the students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used the descriptive approach in his study The Claus test was prepared for eight texts from the biology book to measure the level of its readability, distributed on a randomly selected sample of (94) students from the 11th grade of two public schools affiliated to the Direc¬torate of Education in Muscat Governorate, of which(46) male, and (48) female. The study found the following results: The level of the readability of the biolo¬gy book for the 11th grade is suitable for students in this educational stage. The percentage of students in the above level is 74.2%, which is the total average of students in the independent and educational levels. It also showed that the level of female students ‘readability of texts is higher than that of male students, where there were statistically significant differences in the students’ grades on the clause test and for the benefit of the students. On the other hand, there was a strong correlation between the average readability of all texts for all students and the average achievement of all students. Finally, the results showed that the level of female students’ achievement is higher than that of males. In light of the results, the researchers recommended a number of recommendations, including: To take care to measure the readability of the books of different subjects, and verify their relevance to the level of the class or stage prepared for them, and verify their suitability to the level of the class or stage prepared for them, through the procedure of testing and assessing the readability of its texts before circulation.
