المستخلص: يتناول البحث مفهوم التربية البيئية في سياق سوسيوثقافي، ويتحرى الأبعاد الفلسفية والتاريخية لنشأة المفهوم وتطوره ضمن رؤية استكشافية جديدة للمفهوم في ظل التطورات السياسية والبيئية المستجدة. كما يحاول العمل على تأصيل المفهوم بيداغوجياً ومنهجياً ضمن رؤية منهجية تضعه في السياق الفكري والتاريخي لحركته ونموه وتطوره. في ظل التفاعل السوسيولوجي بين الإنسان والبيئة ضمن مطالب التوازن الحيوي المنشود. يرى الباحث أن التربية البيئية نشأت كاستجابة تاريخية للتدهور البيئي الناجم عن تغول الإنسان ضد الطبيعية ومصادرها الحيوية. ويرى بأن البداية كانت في ثورة الوعي العلمي ضد التدهور البيئي الذي أدى إلى يقظة الضمير العالمي الذي لم يتوان في التأكيد على أهمية التربية البيئية في مجال مكافحة التدهور وحماية الطبيعية من غوائل التدمير البشري. ويتناول البحث نشاط المنظمات الدولية المستمرة منذ ستينات القرن الماضي حتى اليوم في مجال الدعوة إلى ترسيخ معالم التربية البيئية عبر برامج واستراتيجيات دولية. وقد تنادت هذه المنظمات إلى عقد عدد كبير من المؤتمرات والمحاضرات والندوات وورشات العمل التي تدور في فلك التربية البيئية. كما يتناول البحث مختلف التوجهات الفكرية الجديدة في تناول مفهوم التربية البيئية وتطورها فكرياً وفلسفياً ثم يبحث في التوجهات الجديدة للتربية البيئية في سياق التطورات الجديدة الحادثة. وأخيراً يرى الباحث أن التربية البيئية على الرغم من التقدم الذي حققته لم تستطع فعلياً أن توقف التدهور البيئي الناجم عن تغول الصناعة الرأسمالية التي تبحث عن الربح والسلطة والقوة. ويخلص إلى أن التربية البيئية لن تجدي نفعاً في البلدان الفقيرة التي تعاني من التخلف وبالتالي فإن تحقيق التربية البيئية الفعالة لن تتم على أكمل وجه إلا في ظل إصلاح اجتماعي وتنمية سياسية واقتصادية فعالة في هذا البلدان.

The current research deals with the concept of environmental education in a sociocultural context and investigates the philosophical and historical dimensions of the concept's emergence and development within a new exploratory vision of the concept in light of the new political and environmental developments. The research also attempts to handle rooting the concept pedagogically and systematically within a systematic vision, that places it in the intellectual and historical context of its movement, growth and development in light of the sociological interaction between man and the environment within the demands of the desired biological balance. The research also postulates that environmental education arose as a historical response to the environmental deterioration caused by human encroachment against nature and its vital resources. It believes that the beginning was in the revolution of scientific awareness against environmental deterioration, which led to the awakening of the global conscience, which did not hesitate to stress the importance of environmental education in the field of combating deterioration and protecting nature from the ravages of human destruction. The research deals with the activities of international organizations that have continued since the sixties of the last century until today in the field of advocacy for the consolidation of the features of environmental education through international programs and strategies. These organizations have called for holding a large number of conferences, lectures, symposia and workshops that revolve around environmental education. The research also deals with the various new intellectual trends in dealing with the concept of environmental education and its intellectual and philosophical development, and then examines the new directions of environmental education in the context of the new developments taking place. Finally, the researcher believes that environmental education, despite the progress it has achieved, has not actually been able to stop the environmental deterioration.
