The aim of this study is to investigate the emphasis conveyed by kana and inna and their translation into English in the context of Allah’s most beautiful names and lofty attributes in the Noble Qur’an. It explores whether the translators put into account this emphasis or just, as the grammarians do, reflect the different nominative cases and the canonical word order change. Taking this assumption in mind, the study will highlight kana /'inna within the scope of emphasis by means of a comparative description between the translations of four triples of verses: verses with no emphatic tool, verses with kana as one emphatic tool and verses with kanat inna as two emphatic tools with reference to the classification of types of rheme alhabar in Arabic commented on by Ibn Othaimeen (Nasef, et al., 2004). In this effect, the translations subject to this study are achieved by Arberry (1955), Al-Hilali and Khan (1999), Saheeh International (2004). It should be noted that the selected translations are on the whole representative of the case of emphasis this paper attempts to cover. It is true that the translator’s main worry is to recognize the emphasis of the source text and communicate it to the target audience. The result of this study clearly demonstrates that this assertiveness in the target text is notified by Al-Hilali and Khan’s translation.
