يهدف البحث لمعرفة أسباب الغياب لدى طلبة كلية التربية؟ جامعة ميسان للعام الدراسي 2017-2018 لما لهذه الظاهرة من آثار سلبية على المستوى العلمي ولتشخيص أسبابها وجهت الباحثة بتوجيه استبيان مفتوح لعينة استطلاعية عددها (30) طالبا وطالبة يتضمن سؤال يستطلع آرائهم حول أسباب غياب الطلبة وبعد تفريغ استجابات الطلبة أعدت الباحثة استبانة نهائية تضمنت فقرة وعرضت على الخبراء والمحكمين، ثم أعدت استبانة أخرى تضمنت الفقرات التي حصلت على 80% من موافقة الخبراء (التي تمثل الاستبيان المغلق) وعرضت على عينة من طلبة كلية التربية تكونت من (80) طالب وطالبة ثم وجد الوسط المرجح ورتبت الفقرات حسب الوزن المئوي ومن أبرز النتائج التي توصل لها البحث الحالي هي (لا يتوفر الانضباط من إدارة القسم، السهر إلى ساعات متأخرة من الليل، الاتفاق على الغياب قبل العطل وبعدها، والكسل والإهمال من قبل الطالب، اقتصار الطرائق في تدريس بعض المواد إلى التشويق، إحساس الطلبة بعدم إيفاء التعليم الجامعي لمتطلباتهم الشخصية).
