المستخلص: Our present research work is part of the didactics of French in a university context and aims to analyze the writings of first-year students in the Natural and Life Sciences (NLS). The latter have followed during their schooling an education in Arabic but once at university, they are forced to follow specialty courses in French. So, first-year learners of the NLS have a lot of difficulty in speaking and writing. Our study consists in analyzing lexical spelling errors and explaining the causes of these difficulties in order to propose solutions to improve the writing of learners. The results show that the majority of students make many lexical spelling errors which are due to the complexity of the spelling system of the French language and the influence of the learners' mother tongue. So it is essential to develop a language training program according to the FOS approach to meet the language needs of learners.

Notre présent travail de recherche s’inscrit dans le cadre de la didactique du français en contexte universitaire et se fixe pour objectif l’analyse des écrits des étudiants de première année sciences de la nature et de la vie (SNV). Ces derniers ont suivi durant leur parcours scolaire un enseignement en langue arabe mais une fois à l’université, ils sont contraints à suivre les cours de spécialité en langue française. Alors, les apprenants de première année SNV éprouvent beaucoup de difficultés à l’oral comme à l’écrit. Notre étude consiste à analyser les erreurs d’orthographe lexicale et à expliquer les causes de ces difficultés afin de proposer des solutions pour améliorer l’écrit des apprenants. Les résultats montrent que la majorité des étudiants commettent beaucoup d’erreurs d’orthographe lexicale qui sont dues à la complexité du système orthographique de la langue française et à l’influence de la langue maternelle des apprenants. Alors, il est indispensable d’élaborer un programme de formation linguistique selon la démarche FOS pour répondre aux besoins langagiers des apprenants.
