|b This study deals with a sociolinguistic phenomenon, which is the popular language practice. We have always been challenged by salient writings on cars or public transportation vehicles in Jordan. Therefore, the aim of this article is to analyze this type of language practice based on a corpus, constituted of 300 sentences collected in different Jordanian cities. The research questions are: What are the owners of these vehicles writing? What is their real motivation? Who are they talking about? What are they talking about? Is this act a transgression of social, cultural and linguistic norms? Or is this type of writing an observatory of social life and Arabic language in Jordan? What kind of role do foreign languages play in this practice? The results of the analysis of the corpus reflect linguistic specificities, social and emotional connotations. They also show that some owners need to convey their points of view on everyday life, their sense of humor and above all, to freely express certain individual or social issues. This research subject turns out to be important because it provides us, on one hand, with clues about the propagation of this sociolinguistic phenomenon, and on the other hand, it provides information about the social concerns of Jordanians.
