يعتبر التعليم على كافة مستوياته من أهم أهداف التنمية المستدامة ويتقاطع مع معظم الأهداف الأخرى مثل الفقر والجوع والصحة والمساوة بين الجنسين والعمل اللائق والمساوة داخل وخارج الدول والإنتاج الاستهلاك المسئولان وتغير المناخ. وتغطي هذه التقاطعات معظم الموضوعات التعليمية التي توفرها الجامعة. وتدعم الجامعة أهداف التنمية المستدامة عن طريق توفير المعرفة والابتكار اللازمين لتطبيق الأهداف والحوكمة داخل الجامعة لتغيير الثقافة وتعميق الحوار مع قطاعات الدولة الأخرى. وعلى الجانب الآخر تساعد الأهداف الجامعة على تنفيذ برامج تعليمية تخدم الأهداف العالمية للنهوض بالمجتمع على المستوى المحلي والدولي ودعم تأثير الجامعة على المجتمع وتوفير مساعدات داخلية وخارجية من الشركاء لتطوير التعليم. وتقدم هذه المقالة الافتتاحية عرضا للدور الذي يمكن أن تلعبه جامعة عين شمس لتطبيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة. ويعرض المؤلف خبرته في استطلاع آراء أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالكليات المختلقة أثناء الدورات التدريبية التي قام بها من خلال مركز تدريب الجامعة بالإضافة إلى قيامه بتدريس مقرر لمتطلبات الجامعة حول أهداف التنمية والمشروعات القومية بهندسة عين شمس.
Education at all levels is one of the most important goals of sustainable development and intersects with most other goals such as poverty, hunger, health, gender equality, decent work, equality inside and outside countries, responsible production and consumption, and climate change. These intersections cover most of the educational topics provided by the university. The university supports sustainable development goals by providing the knowledge and innovation needed to implement goals and governance within the university to change the culture and deepen dialogue with other sectors of the country. On the other hand, the goals help the university implement educational programs that serve the global goals of promoting society at the local and international levels, supporting the university's impact on society, and providing internal and external assistance from partners to develop education. This study presents the role that Ain Shams University can play in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. The author presents his experience in surveying the opinions of faculty members in different faculties during the training courses he conducted through the university training center, in addition to teaching a course for university requirements on development goals and national projects at Ain Shams Engineering.
