جاءت هذه الورقة بعنوان "البداية الروائية في عرس الزين"، وتهدف إلى دراسة البداية في رواية "عرس الزين" للروائي السوداني الطيب صالح، وكان لا بد أن نتوقف عند مفهوم البداية الروائية في النقد العربي ومؤشراتها، ثم علاقة البداية الروائية بالعتبات، لننطلق منه لدراسة جماليات بداية عرس الزين، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج أهمها: أن البداية الروائية لا تقل أهمية عن النهاية التي أولاها النقاد القدر الأكبر من الاهتمام، وأن بداية عرس الزين اختلفت عن معظم بدايات الروايات المعاصرة لها، فقد مازجت بين الحوار والسرد في تدرج متقن للحوار من الاقتضاب للإسهاب، ومن خلال النماذج التي تم عرضها نرى أن الكاتب حجب عنا جملة من الأحداث التي بدأت وتطورت حتى بلغت ذروتها، ثم وصلت إلى لحطة زواج الزين، وبذلك يكون الطيب صالح قد قلب المعادلة الشهيرة في البدايات الروائية التقليدية التي تبتدئ من نقطة البداية لتنتهي إلى نقطة النهاية.
This paper is written under the title of "The Beginning of the Novel in Wedding of Alzein''. This paper intends to study the novel commencement in Wedding of Alzein story by the Sudanese writer, Altayeb Salih. The story started with a good beginning, because its writer used a very high techniques of suspense and attraction which encourage me to study it and know more about its arts and aesthetics. So it was necessary to study the concept of the beginning of the Novel in Arabic criticism and its indications. It was also important to study the relationship of the Novel starting with thresholds, as well as studying the beginning of the Novel in Wedding of Alzein. This study comes up with many important findings: the beginning of the Novel is a part of the most important ones of prose text and the beginning is not less important than the end as the reviewers say. The study shows that the beginning of wedding of Alzein is completely different from the commencement of the contemporary novels. It mixes between the dialogue and narration in a good gradual way of a dialogue from pithiness to redundance. The three scenes that formed the beginning of wedding of Alzein story are considered vital ones that have a good theatrical value, which came in three places and different times. They provide the reader with imaginative image of the village and its society before entering in the details of the story. Altayeb Salih has changed the style of traditional beginnings of novels that start with Seton to the end. Thus, in the story, the exposed examples show that Salih omitted many events, which started and developed until got its climax then reached the moment of Alzein wedding.
