المستخلص: التاريخانية هي حسب العروي عبد الله، حركة معمارية تمتد من عصور التاريخ القديمة، إلى عصرنا الحالي، المتميز بالتطور التقني والتكنولوجي، أما بالنسبة للانتقائية، فهي استخدام عدة أساليب معمارية تاريخية في عمل معماري واحد، وبهذا فإن العمارة الانتقائية تتخذ جذورها في العمارة التاريخانية. الغرض من هذه المقالة هو فهم هذه الظاهرة من المصدر، وفهم الأسباب والشروط المختلفة المسؤولة عنها، وأخيرا تقييم ما إذا كانت الأعمال الناتجة عن هذه الحركة في الوقت الحاضر تحمل قيما. من خلال هذا المقال، نقترح إدراك مفهوم التاريخانية من خلال جميع الجوانب المتعلقة بها لكي نفهم الظاهرة على نحو أفضل، وأن تكون لنا القدرة على تقييم تأثيرها على الهندسة المعمارية الجزائرية المعاصرة، واستنباط الأسباب الحقيقية وراء ظهورها واستمراريتها.

Historicism is an architectural movement that appeared in the earliest times of history, and remained to the present day of technical and technological development. As for eclecticism, it is the use of several historical styles in a single architectural work, further more eclectic architecture has its roots in historicist architecture. The objective of this article is to understand the phenomenon from its source, as well as the different reasons and conditions that are responsible for it emergence and finally to measure whether, the works resulting from this movement carry values. Through this article, we propose to apprehend the notion of historicism in all its aspects, to understand better the phenomenon, and to evaluate its impact on contemporary Algerian architecture, and deduce the real reasons for its manifestation and persistence.

L’historicisme est un mouvement architectural qui se perpétue depuis les temps reculés de l’histoire, jusqu'à notre ère actuelle, celle du développement technique et technologique. Quant à l'éclectisme, il désigne l’usage de plusieurs styles historiques dans une même oeuvre architecturale ; de ce fait l’architecture éclectique, prend ses racines dans l’architecture historiciste. L’objectif de cet article est alors de comprendre le phénomène depuis la source, ainsi que les différentes raisons et conditions qui en sont responsables et enfin d’évaluer si à l’heure actuelle, les oeuvres résultant de ce mouvement sont porteuses de valeurs. A travers cet article, nous nous proposons de comprendre la notion d’historicisme à travers tous les aspects qui lui sont liés pour mieux appréhender le phénomène, et pouvoir évaluer son impact sur l’architecture algérienne contemporaine, et déduire les véritables raisons de sa manifestation et persistance.
