|a إن علاقة أرمينية مع الدولة العباسية تشكل بحثا مهما وواسعا في التاريخ، فعلاقة أرمينية بالدولة العباسية كانت تتأرجح بين الوفاق والتمرد ضد السلطة العباسية، فحينا يقف الأرمن إلى جانب العباسيين في حروبهم ضد بيزنطة، وحينا آخر يختلف موقفهم ويصبح بالعكس، فهنالك الثورات والتمردات الداخلية التي كانت تحدث بين الحين والآخر ضد السلطات العباسية، فقد شارك الأرمن ودعموا المتمردين ضد الدولة العباسية في الكثير من الأحيان، وذلك بسبب رغبتهم بالحصول على الاستقلال، والسبب الرئيس بتذبذب مواقفهم من السلطة العباسية أنهم كانوا يتخذون مواقفهم بما يتناسب مع مصالحهم الشخصية، فقد شغلت أرمينية دورا مهما في العلاقات بين العرب المسلمين والبيزنطيين وخاصة في مجالي العلاقات العسكرية والسياسية، وذلك نظرا للموقع الاستراتيجي المهم لأرمينية، هذا الموقع دفع كلا الطرفين العربي المسلم والبيزنطي إلى محاولة استمالة الأرمن لصفه، لما للأرمن من تأثير في مجريات الأحداث، وكانت علاقات الأرمن مع هذين الطرفين متأرجحة بين التأييد والخضوع وبين الثورة والانتفاضة.
|b Armenia's relation with the Abbasid State constitutes such an important broad topic in history because this relation fluctuated between concord and rebellion against the Abbsasid authorities. At times the Armenians sided with the Abbasids in their wars against Byzantum, while at other times their position was the reverse. There were internal revolts and rebellions that took place from time to time against the Abbasid authorities and the Armenians took part in such revolts and supported the rebels most often because of their pursuit for independence. However, the main reason for their fluctuating positions towards the Abbasid authorities had to do with the positions they used to take in accordance with their own interests. Armenia played a significant role in the relations between the Muslim Arabs and Byzantians especially in the fields of military and political relations by reason of its important and strategic location. This vital location motivated the Arab Muslims and the Byzantians to make the Armenians side with them due to the Armenians impact on the military / political arena. The Armenian relations with both parties fluctuated between supporting and paying tribute to them or rising and rebelling against them.
