المستخلص: This study aims to find out the students’ activities outside the classroom to learn, improve and widen their exposure to English language outdoor the classroom premises. One hundred and fifty students from three streams of Education, University of Aden, were randomly selected for the purpose of this study. The tools used for the study were questionnaires for students and general observation. This study will help the students to understand different types of activities to use English language outside the classroom and how these activities help them to improve their English. The result of the study revealed that the students have very less opportunities to learn and use English, when they speak with their friends, teachers and others while watching English programmes and movies, reading the newspapers, magazines and books in English language. The students in this study claimed that these activities can help them to learn English language better. It was observed that not all the students benefit from these opportunities to learn English language as they less scope to use English language outside the classroom. The researchers suggest that there is a need for language learning activities to enhance the students learning and competence, and students should be encouraged to practice English by reading and writing materials in English, using English for communication with others, etc.
