المستخلص: البروفيسور حسين بن عبد الله العمري قامة علمية وشخصية سياسة يمنية معروفة علم من أعلام المؤرخين اليمنيين والعرب في التاريخ الحديث والمعاصر، عالم موسوعي، كاتب، مفكر، مؤرخ حصيف، محقق ضليع، سياسي محنك ودبلوماسي ناجح؛ له حضور مميز ونشاط ثقافي وعلمي وسياسي ودبلوماسي متميز. غزير العلم واسع الاطلاع له أسلوبه المميز والخاص في الكتابة التاريخية، حقق مجموعة من الكتب التراث اليمني في التاريخ والفقه والأدب، أثرى المكتبة اليمنية والعربية بعشرات الكتب والمقالات القيمة في مجالات التاريخ والفكر والفقه والسياسة، أهمية البحث: دراسة مسيرة حياة الأستاذ الدكتور حسين بن عبد الله العمري وإبراز أدواره العلمية والثقافية والدبلوماسية وانشطته وآراؤه السياسية من خلال كتبه ومقالاته والوظائف الأكاديمية والإدارية والسياسية والدبلوماسية التي تقلدها، هدف البحث: تقديم صورة عن جهود واسهامات البروفيسور العمري في التاريخ والسياسة والفكر مؤرخا وسياسيا ومفكرا ، وعرض أدواره السياسية المؤثرة، بالإضافة إلى توضيح القضايا الفكرية التي وقف عندها وناقشها في كتاباته، منهج البحث: اعتمدت الباحثة على المنهج الاستقرائي والاستنباطي بالإضافة إلى المنهج الوصفي في كتابة البحث. نتائج البحث: توصل البحث إلى أن نشاط البروفيسور العمري العلمي تركز على الاهتمام بتاريخ اليمن وإحياء التراث اليمني المخطوط، وقدم من خلال عمله السياسي والدبلوماسي رؤى سياسية تهدف إلى تنمية اليمن وتطويرها. وقدم رؤى فكرية تدعو للتجديد والإصلاح بالإضافة إلى النهوض بالتعليم والثقافة لأنها أساس تنمية الدولة والمجتمع.

Professor Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Amri is a scholar and a wellknown Yemeni political figure, one of the most prominent Yemeni and Arab historians in modern and contemporary history. a polymath, writer, thinker, discreet historian, masterful investigator, seasoned politician and successful diplomat; It has a distinguished presence and a distinguished cultural, scientific, political and diplomatic activity. He is well-versed in knowledge and has his own distinctive style of historical writing. He achieved a group of Yemeni heritage books in history, jurisprudence and literature. He enriched the Yemeni and Arabic library with dozens of valuable books and articles in the fields of history, thought, jurisprudence and politics. The importance of this research is due to the study of the life path of Professor Dr. Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Amri and highlighting his scientific, cultural and diplomatic roles, activities and political views through his books and articles, and the academic, administrative, political and diplomatic positions he held. The research aims to present a picture of the efforts and contributions of Professor Al Amri in history, politics and thought as a historian, politician and thinker, and to present his influential political roles, in addition to clarifying the intellectual issues that he stood at and discussed in his writings .The research concluded that Professor Al-Amri’s scientific activity focused on interest in the history of Yemen and the revival of the Yemeni manuscript heritage. He presented, through his political and diplomatic work, political visions aimed at developing and developing Yemen. He presented intellectual visions calling for renewal and reform in addition to the advancement of education and culture because it is the basis for the development of the state and society. The researcher relied on the inductive and deductive method in addition to the descriptive method in writing the research.
