520 |b This Research Paper analyzes the Effects of Netflix binge watching phenomena on Egyptian teenagers’ academic achievement. The research paper aims to determine the exposure time and binge watching rates of Egyptian teenagers to Netflix in addition to determining the most content type that stimulates the binge watching phenomena for teenagers of age from (14 -20) thus, the research papers aims to investigate the effect of Netflix binge watching phenomena on their academic achievement & future plan. By depending on social learning theory & uses and gratification theory, the conducted survey indicated that 84% of the students watch Netflix in exam days with high exposure rate that starts from 2 to 7 hours in 82.7 % of the student during exams days by percentage of 53.5 toward action content and by percentage of 52.5 toward mystery content. Therefore, its highlighted that teenagers have high binge watching rates even in their exams days which means that Netflix leads to time wasting and Attention Deficit due to their high binge watching rates during exams times which subsequently can lead to less academic engagement that by time by can leads to less academic achievement and negative consequences on their academic progress, indeed this could affect teenagers’ future plans.
