المستخلص: يتناول هذا البحث دراسة أشكال حواف الأواني الفخارية الناتجة عن التنقيبات التي أجرتها بعثة قسم الآثار بجامعة الملك سعود لعام 1434 هـ، في موقع دادان "الخريبة" (الموسم العاشر). تتكون عينة الدراسة من (31) كسرة فخارية. تمثل أشكال الحواف وطريقة صناعتها، منتقاة من بين أعداد الكسر الفخارية التي ظهرت في مجمل فخار الموسم بشكل كامل، وكان اختيار الكسر مبني على فرز المجموعات التي ظهرت أثناء التنقيبات، وتم اختيارها بطريقة منهجية شملت الحواف بأشكالها المختلفة ممثلة في خمسة أنماط هي: النمط الأول: نمط الحواف التي تميل للخارج. النمط الثاني: نمط الحواف التي تحمل زخارف مضافة. النمط الثالث: نمط الحواف العريضة المسطحة. النمط الرابع: نمط الحواف المصمتة مع الرقبة أو البدن. النمط الخامس: نمط الحواف الحلقية. ومن خلال الفرز لم يظهر لنا حواف كاملة وإنما كانت عبارة عن كسر من حواف، وكل حافة إما يتصل بها جزء من رقبة أو جزء من بدن ورقبة أو جزء من بدن، أو حافة مضاف لها إطار من الخارج في شكل لفائف حبلية متعرجة أو مضغوطة. ومن خلال هذه الدراسة ظهرت لنا هذه الأنماط بما فيها من تفاصيل ساعدت على معرفة شكل الحافة وفي تصور شكل الإناء ومعرفة وظيفته. واشتمل البحث على الدراسة الوصفية والدراسة التحليلية، والرسم والتصوير والاستنتاجات.

This research deals with the study of the shapes of the edges of the pottery vessels from the excavations carried out by the King Saud University mission for the year 1434 AH, at the Dadan "Al- Khuraiba" site (the tenth season), represented by the College of Tourism and Archaeology - Department of Archaeology. The study sample consisted of (31) pottery sherds. They represent the shapes of the edges and the method of their manufacture, selected from among the numbers of pottery sherds that appeared in the entire pottery collection of the season. The selection of the sherds was based on sorting the groups that appeared during the excavations, and they were selected in a systematic way that included the edges in their various forms represented in five patterns: Pattern 1: The pattern of edges that slope outward. Pattern 2: the pattern of the edges bearing added decorations. Pattern 3: flat wide edging style. Pattern 4: Solid edge style with neck or body. Pattern 5: Annular edging style. And through sorting, it did not show us complete edges, but they were fractures of edges, and each edge is either connected by part of the neck or part of the body, or an edge to which a frame is added from the outside in the form of zigzag or compressed rope coils. Through this study, these patterns helped us to know the shape of the edge and to visualize the shape of the bowl and know its function. The research included a descriptive study, an analytical study, drawing, illustrating, and conclusions.
