المستخلص: This article is intended as a contribution to demonstrate the role of cultural competence in intercultural communication. Nowadays there are many encounters between people from different cultures and these encounters do not always lead to communications without difficulties and can even lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. Cultural competence can help improve relationships between individuals from different cultures and can also bring individuals closer together by setting aside existing stereotypes and prejudices to understand each other and lay the groundwork for an intercultural future without priories where the individual has the right to difference and otherness
