المستخلص: نتيجة لزيادة المشكلات البيئية وتفاقمها مع بداية القرن الواحد والعشرين، الأمر الذي جعل المسؤولية على عاتق المؤسسات التعليمية ودورها في إكساب الأفراد والجماعات تنمية الشعور بالمسئولية تجاه بيئتهم وإكسابهم الوعي اللازم ليكونوا قادرين على التعامل مع البيئة تعاملا سليما وذلك لأن الإنسان هو الكائن الأكثر تأثيرا في البيئة من خلال أنشطته المتزايدة ومحاولاته المستمرة للسيطرة على الموارد من أجل الكسب، لذلك فإنه من الضروري أن يكتسب هذا الإنسان الدراية والمعرفة اللازمة ببيئته، وأن يحد من ممارسته المضرة بالبيئة سواء بقصد أو بغير قصد وأن يكون قادرة على وضع الحلول لمشكلات قائمة وتفادي مشكلات أخرى، وأن ذلك كله يتم من خلال التوعية البيئية أو الوعي البيئي. هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم دور المؤسسات التعليمية في رفع مستوى الوعي البيئي وعلاقتها بمتغيري الجنس والتخصص لطلاب (كلية الهندسة بجامعة صبراتة كحالة دراسة)، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (102) طالبا وطالبة من طلبة كلية الهندسة، تم اختيارهم بالطريقة العشوائية. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة طور الباحثين مقياسا تكون في صورته النهائية من (15) فقرة. حيث أشارت نتائج الدراسة أن مستوى الوعي البيئي جاءت 76.6، كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فرق دال إحصائيا عند مستوى الدلالة (α=0.06) في مستوى الوعي البيئي لمتغير الجنس والتخصص.

As a result of the increase and exacerbation of environmental problems with the beginning of the twenty-first century, which put the responsibility on educational institutions and their role in providing individuals and groups with developing a sense of responsibility towards their environment and giving them the necessary awareness to be able to deal with the environment in a proper manner, because the human being is the most influential being in the environment from During his increasing activities and his continuous attempts to control resources for the sake of earning, it is therefore necessary for this person to acquire the necessary know-how and knowledge of his environment, and to limit his practices that are harmful to the environment, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and to be able to develop solutions to existing problems and avoid other problems, and that It is all done through environmental awareness or environmental awareness. This study aimed to assess the role of educational institutions in raising the level of environmental awareness and its relationship to the variables of gender and specialization for students (Faculty of Engineering, University of Sabratha as a case study), and the study sample consisted of (102) male and female students from the College of Engineering, who were chosen by random method. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers developed a scale that, in its final form, consisted of (15) items. The results of the study indicated that the level of environmental awareness was 76.6, and the results showed that there was no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α = 0.06) in the level of environmental awareness for the variable of sex and specialization.
