إن الجامعات دورا رئيسا في عملية التغيير الاجتماعي والاقتصادي بالمجتمع؛ فهي مسئولة عن قيادة عملية الاقتصاد الأخضر، وتحقيق متطلباته بالمجتمعات في جميع التخصصات والمجالات، كونها قادرة على إنتاج المعرفة ونشرها، والاستفادة من نتائج الأبحاث في مرحلة الدراسات العليا في قيادة التغيير المستدام وفي تحقيق متطلبات الاقتصاد الأخضر، ونحو تحقيق الأفضل لمواكبة المتغيرات المعاصرة، ومن ثم سعي البحث الحالي إلى تفعيل متطلبات التحول إلى الاقتصاد الأخضر في منظومة الدراسات العليا بالجامعات المصرية، وذلك من خلال استعراض مفهوم الاقتصاد الأخضر، وتحديد أهم متطلبات التحول إلى الاقتصاد الأخضر، والتعرف على خبرة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في تفعيل متطلبات التحول إلى الاقتصاد الأخضر في منظومة الدراسات العليا بالجامعات، والوقوف على واقع تحقق متطلبات التحول إلى الاقتصاد الأخضر في منظومة الدراسات العليا بالجامعات المصرية، والوقوف على القوي والعوامل المؤثرة على تفعيل متطلبات التحول إلى الاقتصاد الأخضر في منظومة الدراسات العليا بالجامعات الأمريكية والمصرية، وتقديم إجراءات مقترحة لتفعيل متطلبات التحول إلى الاقتصاد الأخضر في منظومة الدراسات العليا بالجامعات المصرية، واستخدمت الباحثة المنهج المقارن، وتوصل البحث إلى مجموعة من الإجراءات المقترحة تتمثل في (غرس مهارات الوعي البيئي ومهارات الاستدامة لطلاب الدراسات العليا وإحساسهم بالمشكلات والتغيرات البيئية على المجتمع، وذلك من خلال نشر توعية بالتحديات البيئية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية للمجتمع البيئي وكيفية الحد منها، وتقديم برامج الماجستير والدكتوراه في الاقتصاد الأخضر، تهتم بتعريفه، وعلاقته بالتنمية المستدامة، وتحقيق متطلبات الاقتصاد الأخضر، والعمل على استحداث تخصصات جديدة مرتبطة بالاقتصاد الأخضر، وعدم إهمال ما جاء من توصيات في الأبحاث التي تناولت الاقتصاد الأخضر وتحقيق متطلباته في الجامعات، ووضعها في المخازن ورفوف المكتبات).
