|b We focus on the Algerian students living in France who are asked to use all available means to adapt to their surrounding and succeed in their academic career. According to this view, we will answer the following question: how do these students perceive French language and what is the impact of this perception on their integration and success in France? We opted for a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews. Analysis of the corpus revealed a very ambivalent relationship of respondents to their languages which wavered between the symbolic domination of the French language and the rejection of Arabic.
|d Nous nous intéressons aux étudiants algériens installés en France qui sont appelés à déployer tous les moyens afin de s’adapter et de réussir leurs parcours universitaire et social dans ce pays. Nous serons amenée à répondre à cette question : quelles sont les représentations des étudiants algériens en France sur la langue française ? Notre objectif serait donc d’atteindre les représentations de ces derniers sur la langue française et de cerner leurs rapports à leurs langues, notamment à la langue française. L’analyse du corpus a révélé un rapport très ambivalent des enquêtés à leurs langues qui vacille entre la domination symbolique de la langue française et le rejet de l’arabe.
