المستخلص: After Hamas had won the legislative elections with a vast majority in January 2006, the Israeli occupation, along with Arab and international parties, has imposed a severe blockade on the Gaza Strip which affected all life aspects there. This study presents the causes, effects, future, and political, media, and popular attempts to end the blockade. The researcher used the historical approach and addressed two topics: the blockade and its effects and the attempts to end the blockade and Gaza future. Then the study ends with several results. Mainly, the Israeli blockade was imposed to overthrow Hamas and paralyze its military power; the American and European position has been in favor of the Israeli occupation while the Arabs remain silent and carry out the will of the Israelis and Americans. The blockade led to a humanitarian crisis that affected the Palestinians at the social, psychological and health levels. The study found that the blockade imposed on Gaza for political reasons has resulted in severe damages in the fields of health, education, and basic needs. It has inflicted long-term health and psychological harm on children, patients, and the elderly. The study recommended the urgent need to lift the unjust and unethical blockade in cooperation with Palestinian authorities and international community institutions, as well as all advocates for freedom and human rights worldwide.
