|a إن دراسة خصائص السكان الكمية من حيث حجمها وتوزيعها وتراكيبها وتسليط الضوء على مكونات التغيير الرأسي والأفقي لها، مستعينتا بالتعدادات السكانية والتسجيلات الحيوية السنوية والإسقاطات السكانية تدعم الخطيط الاقتصادي والاجتماعي. كما أن لدراسة القوى البشرية والتي تشمل السكان من كلا الجنسين والقادرين على العمل في سن (١٥- (٦٤) بعد استبعاد غير القادرين من ذوي العاهات والمعوقين والأمراض المستعصية، وهؤلاء يسهمون بشكل مباشر وغير مباشر بدعم الدخل القومي من خلال أعمالهم والتي يحصلون على أرزاقهم منها. وأصبح ضروريا دراسة تلك القوى في مختلف الجوانب من اجل توفير قوة العمل اللازمة لتغيير وتطوير خطط التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية.
|b Studying the quantitative characteristics of the population in terms of its size, distribution, and composition, and highlighting the components of its vertical and horizontal change, using population censuses, annual vital records, and population projections that support economic and social planning. Also, to study the manpower, which includes the population of both sexes and those who are able to work at the age of (15- 64) after excluding those who are unable with disabilities and incurable diseases, and those who contribute directly and indirectly to support the national income through their work and from which they get their livelihood. It became necessary to study these forces in various aspects in order to provide the labor force necessary to change and develop economic and social development plans.
