Researchers and decision-makers from all over the world meet to bet on education as a gateway for improving the quality of life, for facing crises and for fronting the multiple challenges from which our world suffers today, and thus underline the need for reforming and developing the education system to respond to this bet. In part one of this research, we will present the reality of the Arab world today, and the challenges it faces from international and local perspective, as an introduction to the study of the reality of the Arab world schools, its education systems, and the eligibility of these systems to meet these challenges. In part two, we will try to build a new approach to analyze the challenges of the Arab world schools and its education systems. This approach will be based on understanding the broader context that produced these challenges, what we have called the concept of the civilizational approach, with an attempt to build a coherent conceptual base. We also aim to propose a methodological framework that responds to this approach, in the hope that it will help to engross the educational and other challenges imposed by the domination of Wes- tern civilization, and the aspirations of its people to globalize this civilization. |
