المستخلص: This study is a survey intended for professional Algerian medical doctors and teachers, aimed at understanding the doctors' perspective on the current state of the medical lexicon within the linguistic repertoire of educated Algerian patients. The main finding of this study reveals a deficiency in expressing basic medical terms among educated Algerian patients. Furthermore, the majority of survey participants agree that there is a significant lack of knowledge regarding basic medical vocabulary among educated Algerian patients. Based on this finding, the participants identified three factors or variables that may contribute to the limited medical lexicon in the discourse of educated Algerian patients. These factors revolve around three main variables, namely: (1) Lack of linguistic skills. (2) Insufficient inclusion of medical content in French educational textbooks (3) Limited casual interactions between doctors and patients.
