The penal policy of the Algerian legislator plays an important role in protecting individuals against any prejudice to their safety, health, or property. In addition to the provisions of the penal code, legislators have special laws that achieve the same purpose, the most important of which is the Consumer Protection Law. This is to protect the consumer as the weak party in the relationship with producers. This requires the existence of deterrent rules that prevent this party’s interest in any way compromised.
