المستخلص: The research aims to identify the concept of sustainable development and sustainable agriculture through a diagnosis of the current situation of the Egyptian agriculture and its problems and the statement of the reality and challenges of agricultural policies in Egypt. particularly the environmental challenges facing sustainable agriculture in Egypt. which weaken Egypt's ability to achieve sustainable agricultural development enhances the ability to achieve security food as a fundamental national security focus and measure the impact of these environmental challenges on agricultural output. The researcher relied on the use of descriptive and analytical approach in order to achieve sustainable agricultural development requirements. It was also rely on some of the diverse statistical methods such as statistical tables. percentages. and regression analysis. The research showed ignore environmental considerations in sustainable agricultural development program planning in Egypt as a result of non-proliferation of environmental awareness and the prevailing belief that funding for environmental protection programs would be at the expense of sustainable agricultural development programs in the face of limited allocated to the environment in the state budget financial resources. deepening of environmental challenges and their negative effects on sustainable agricultural development. The research found the need to include environmental considerations into account as a prerequisite for sustainable agricultural development. the need to return to the methods of organic and biological agriculture. and Activating the partnership between the public and private sectors in the field of agriculture.
