|a إن عبد الله بن أبي أوفي (علقمة الأسلمي) صحابي جليل من صحابة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم شهد بيعة الرضوان والحديبية وخيبر، فنال قصب السبق بذلك، كان يسكن المدينة المنورة في عهد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم سكن الكوفة بعد وفاة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهو آخر من توفي بالكوفة من الصحابة، وذلك سنة 87 للهجرة اختلف في كنيته إلى ثلاثة أقوال: يقال أبو إبراهيم ويقال أبو معاوية ويقال أبو محمد، يرجع نسبه إلى قبيلة خزاعة، القبيلة العربية المعروفة، فقد بصره في آخر حياته، وكان يصبغ رأسه بالحناء وكان له ضفيرتان، من فضائله أنه تلقى الحديث من النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) مشافهة من غير واسطة، وهذه مزية شرف، ودرجة رفيعة لعبد الله بن أبي أوفي (رضي الله عنه)، روى عنه جمع غفير أمثال الشعبي وتميم بن طرفة والأعمش وغيرهم، بلغ عدد الاحاديث التي رواها عنه الشيخان البخاري ومسلم (7) احاديث، اتفقا عليها في صحيحهما، الذين تلقت الأمة احاديثهما بالقبول، وهما من اصح الكتب بعد القرآن الكريم.
