المستخلص: This study aimed at investigating to what extent gestures' integration into pedagogy demonstrates a possibility for improving poor English students' ability to learn L2. In a classroom experiment, the researcher investigated the effect of using gesture-based learning on fifth graders' ability to learn English language and particularly acquire unfamiliar English vocabulary. It was hypothesized that gesture- enriched learning can boost poor English learners' outcome. A group of 25 Arab students were taught new English words in two different ways. In one teaching session the teacher used gesture-absent teaching while the other session was based on gesture-enriched teaching. An evaluation test was carried out at the end of each session. A significant difference was observed between the results of two tests. Descriptive and statistical calculations demonstrated that gesture-based learning has significantly enhanced poor English students' L2 learning of the new words. This research further suggests that gestures' utilization on the long run motivates poor English language learners and revitalizes their educational performance.
