School social work aims to put all the educational capabilities of the school into activities that increase the student's growth on the social, health, moral, and scientific levels of the student who is at the focus of the educational process. Social workers in the school represent the workforce of the school social work profession. They are responsible for carrying out social activities, and working to enable students to benefit from the school's various programs to achieve social development for students in order to prepare them for life, provided that this preparation is in the early stages of the child's life such as the primary stage and work on the development of the educational role of the social worker :in line with the nature of their work in the school, so the study questions came 1. What is the reality of the roles of the social worker in the Egyptian primary school? 2. What are the educational needs of the social workers in the Egyptian primary school? 3. What are the contemporary global trends in school social work? And the aspects of benefiting from it in the Egyptian primary school? 4. What is the proposed scenario for activating the educational roles of the school social workers in the Egyptian primary school? The importance of this study is due to its role in the enrichment of educational research in the field of school social work, and work to activate the school social worker's role as one of the important pillars in the educational process. And confronting the student's problems, meeting their needs in an educational way, which helps in the conduct of the educational process through a school social worker, well the prepared in social work colleges and institutes, or well trained throughout real school practices while working. The study has been applied to (25) social workers in primary schools, (10) social education mentors in educational directorates, (10) school directors, and (10) parents of primary school students in Cairo governorate via the open interviews tool. The study reached several recommendations, the most important of which are: 1. The necessity of educational qualification for the school social workers during their preparation and after their graduation while working in the school. 2. Develop a job description for the school social worker according to the age group in which he works. 3. Providing support to the social workers by social education mentors and teacher directors to carry out their roles to the fullest. |
