المستخلص: يعد العنصر البشري في المكتبة الجامعية محور نجاحها؛ إذ يتوقف هذا النجاح على مدى كفاءة هذا العنصر وقدرته على القيام بأداء دوره بفاعلية وكفاءة؛ حيث تؤثر نوعية وخبرة وكفاءة العاملين في نجاح أي مكتبة أو فشلها. ويسعى البحث إلى التعرف على دور أخصائي المكتبات في تنمية الوعي المعلوماتي لدى المستفيدين؛ خاصة أن زيادة عدد المستفيدين من المكتبة مؤشرا على نجاح المكتبة في أداءها لدورها، وهو ما يتحقق من خلال الدور الذي يمكن أن يلعبه أخصائي المكتبات في تنمية الوعي المعلوماتي لدي المستفيدين من المكتبة الجامعية. وتتعدد أدوار أخصائي المعلومات فيما يتعلق بتنمية الوعي المعلوماتي لدى المستفيد؛ حيث تشمل جعل المستفيد قادرا على التعرف بدقة على حاجته المعلوماتية، وأن تكون لديه القدرة على طرحها في تساؤلات واضحة، والقدرة على البحث عنها بنفسه من خلال مصادر المعلومات المتاحة؛ وذلك من خلال إتقانه للمهارات اللازمة لتحقيق هذه العمليات، وأن يستطيع التفاعل مع مصادر وأنظمة المعلومات الموجودة. وحتى يستطيع أخصائي المعلومات تحقيق أدواره تجاه المستفيد؛ عليه أن يساعد المستفيد على أن يدرك حاجته للمعلومات بنفسه؛ ثم قدرته على البحث عنها بكفاءة وانتقاء ما يحتاجه منها؛ ثم فهمها وتحليلها ومعالجتها والاستفادة منها، ونقلها للآخرين بصورة واضحة ومفهومة.

The human element in the university library is the focus of its success, as this success depends on the efficiency of this element and its ability to perform its role effectively and efficiently, as quality, experience, and competence of workers affect success or failure of library. The research seeks to identify the role of the librarian in developing information awareness among the beneficiaries. In particular, the increase in the number of library beneficiaries is an indication of the library's success in performing its role, which is achieved through the role that librarians can play in developing information awareness among university library beneficiaries. There are many roles of the information specialist with regard to the development of information awareness of the beneficiary. The roles of the information specialist include making the beneficiary able to identify his information need. Among his roles is also that he has the ability to ask clear questions and the ability to search for them himself through the available sources of information, through his mastery of the necessary skills to achieve these operations, and to be able to interact with existing information sources and systems. In order for the information specialist to be able to fulfill his role as the beneficiary, he must help the beneficiary to realize his own need for information, then his ability to search for it efficiently, select what he needs from it, then understand, analyze, process, benefit from it, and transfer it to others in a clear and understandable manner.
