المستخلص: The threat of assaults on data and information has become an alarming reality with the emergence of digital transformation. This paper addresses the following: - The concept of cyber security. - Its importance, role, and economic, social, and other dimensions. - The increasing awareness of the necessity of protecting data, information, and applications with high economic, social, and financial value against all forms of assault, especially with the rapidly growing conversion of analog to digital systems. - Categorizing cyber security under the appropriate category in Islamic jurisprudence, repelling an assailant, with certain conditions and constraints. - Subsuming cyber theft under the crime of theft in general. - The necessity of legal codification for cyber security applications. - Encouraging the use of the authoritative books from our Islamic juristic heritage to address contemporary issues, thereby demonstrating the role of Islamic legal maxims as overarching laws that protect individuals from harm.
