المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على فاعلية استراتيجية (SWOM) في تنمية مهارات الفهم القرائي، لطالبات الصف الثالث ابتدائي بمحافظة الخرج، ولتحقيق هدف البحث استخدمت الباحثة المنهج التجريبي لتصميم شبه التجريبي، وتكونت عينة البحث من (50) طالبة تم توزيعهم على مجموعتين، مجموعة ضابطة بلغ عددها (25) طالبة ودرست وحدة (البحار والمحيطات) بالطريقة التقليدية، ومجموعة التجريبية بلغ عددها (25) طالبة ودرست الوحدة نفسها باستخدام استراتيجية (SWOM)، وتمثلت أداة الدراسة في اختبار لمهارات الفهم القرائي وهي (مهارة الفهم الحرفي، ومهارة الفهم الاستنتاجي، ومهارة الفهم الإبداعي) من إعداد الباحثة، وتم استخدام العديد من الأساليب الإحصائية المناسبة لتحليل البيانات واختبار الفرضيات، وكشفت النتائج فاعلية استراتيجية (SWOM) في تنمية مهارات الفهم القرائي لدى طالبات الصف الثالث ابتدائي بمحافظة الخرج، حيث بلغ حجم مربع إيتا (0.740) بدرجة كبيرة جدا، كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05) بين متوسط درجات أفراد المجموعتين (التجريبية – الضابطة) وأن هذه الفروق جاءت لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. وفي ضوء تلك النتائج أوصى البحث بمجموعة من التوصيات من أهمها: تطبيق استراتيجية (SWOM) والعمل على تضمينها في مناهج اللغة العربية، وإعداد دورات تدريبية وورش عمل في استخدام استراتيجية (SWOM) تستهدف معلمات اللغة العربية لتدريبهن على استخدام الاستراتيجية، ودراسة فاعلية استراتيجية (SWOM) في تنمية مهارات الفهم القرائي لطلاب المراحل الدراسية المختلفة.

This study aims to identify effectiveness of the SWOM strategy in enhancing reading comprehension skills among third- grade female students in Al- Kharj. To achieve the aim of the study sample consisted of (50) female students, divided into two groups: a control group and experimental group. The control group, comprising (25) students, studied. The same unit using the "Seas and Oceans" unit the traditional way, while the experimental group, comprising (25) students, studied the same unit using the (SWOM) strategy. The study tool was a test of reading comprehension skills (literal comprehension, inferential comprehension, and creative comprehension) prepared by the researcher. A variety of appropriate statistical methods were used to analyze the data and test the hypotheses, including t- test for independent samples, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation. And Cronbach's alpha. The results revealed the effectiveness of the SWOM strategy in enhancing reading comprehend (SWOM) strategy. The study tool was a test of reading comprehension skills (literal comprehension, inferential comprehension, and creative comprehension) prepared by the researcher. A variety of appropriate statistical methods were used to analyze the data and test the hypotheses, including t-test for independent samples, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient and Cronbach's alpha. The results revealed the effectiveness of the SWOM strategy in enhancing reading comprehension skills among third-grade female students in Al-Kharj, whereas Eta Squared size reaches (0.740). The results of the study showed that there was a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the members of the two groups (experimental and control). It further showed that these differences were in favor of the experimental group. In light of these results, the study offers a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: implementing the SWOM strategy and working to include it in Arabic language curricula, providing training courses and workshops in using the SWOM strategy targeting Arabic language female teachers to equip them with the skills to use the strategy, and studying the effectiveness of the SWOM strategy in developing reading comprehension skills among students at different academic stages.
