This research investigates the relationship between Theory of Mind (ToM) and Pragmatics in children within their directly connected entourage. The purpose of the study is to explore how ToM development influences pragmatic skills among young children. The problem addressed is the need to understand the relationship between cognitive and linguistic abilities in social interactions. The hypothesis posits that children with advanced ToM skills exhibit better pragmatic competence and that the environment plays an important role in developing these abilities. The paper provides the main theoretical foundation by reviewing literature on ToM, language development, and social behaviour. It also outlines the research design, including data collection tools dealing with the population of 6-8-year-old children from Bougasmia El Djilali Elementary School. The results indicate a significant correlation between ToM development and pragmatic skills in children, highlighting the importance of cognitive skills in effective communication within their social environment. It also showed how the latter plays a major role in shaping both pragmatic and theory of mind foundation.
