المستخلص: This study aims to explore the role of digital technology in Algerian higher education institutions and ways to enhance its use. This technology is one of the important tools to achieve the overall quality of education and reduce the knowledge and social gap between individuals. The study relies on descriptive analysis methods and concludes that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's efforts to digitize the sector are still limited and far from international standards in the use of information technology in universities. In general, the use of digital technology in Algerian higher education institutions needs to be further developed and strengthened. Educational institutions and the Ministry of Higher Education should also intensify efforts to raise awareness and training on the use of technology in education and provide the necessary resources to achieve this goal. It is also necessary to improve the digital infrastructure of universities and provide fast and reliable communication to facilitate access to technology and improve its effectiveness.
