The degree of conjunctions cognition influences the students' writingclarity immensely. Hence, this study is concerned with examining the conjunctions awareness among EFL students of English at tertiary level. A number of 20 EFL students at tertiary level in the third year in English Department at Comboni College were exposed to a test regarding identifying and using of conjunctions in EFL students’ written production. The test findings showed that the students do not have real problem of realizing conjunctions, but they have issues of how conjunctions are used in linking between words, sentences, phrases within texts. According to the result, firstly, the researcher recommends that the EFL students have to exert extra efforts in using conjunctions in their writing. Secondly, motivation has to be seriously considered by EFL lecturers in order to guarantee acceptable degree of clarity in their students’ writings qualitywithin the academia context.
