|b Jordan is witnessing ups and downs in a number of social and human development aspects. This study explores the subject through strategic plans and particular programmes offered by governmental and non-governmental organizations aiming to arrive at man’s sufficiency, dignity and better role in society. It also reviews these projects’ requirements and challenges. \ To this end, a seminar was organized by the Middle East Studies Center in its headquarters in Amman on October 20, 2010. It was entitled by "Social and Human Development Approaches in Jordan", attended by a number of specialists, journalists and politicians. \ Attention was centered firstly on the reality of social and human development in this country, looking into its chances for growth as well as difficulties encountering state programmes. Secondly, basics for an initial vision were set to raise the level of social and human development in the kingdom within three main topics: \ -Social and Human Development in Jordan: Reality and Chances \ -Development Programmes: Challenges and Opportunities Social and Human Development: Future Horizons.
