لقد سعى هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن الآليات التي يتوصل من خلالها شراح شعر المتنبي إلى فهم خاص للمعنى الكامن في النص، وبما أن النص هو نتاج كاتبه، ومصوغ بلغة لها معاييرها وقواعدها، ومتأثر بالسياق الخارجي الذي انتج فيه، فقد رأينا من خلال تتبعنا لنصوص شراح المتنبي أن الشراح اعتمدوا هذه الآليات، اي: الكاتب والنص والسياق للوصول إلى فهم شعر المتنبي، وقد كانت اختلافاتهم نابعة من اعتمادهم هذه الآليات. ابتدأنا بالكاتب كاشفين أهم الجوانب الخاصة به والتي أثرت في فهم الشراح لنصوصه، ثم عرجنا على دراستهم للنص من حيث نحوه وبلاغته وعلاقته بالنصوص الأخرى سواء كانت هذه النصوص لشعراء سابقين لعصر المتنبي او كانت هذه النصوص هي نصوص الشاعر نفسه، ثم وقفنا في النهاية على السياق الخارجي وذلك على اعتبار أن النص هو أحد إفرازاته متتبعين أثره في الفهوم التي انتجت حول شعر المتنبي.
