المستخلص: Parsing is a very important characteristic of arabic language. it is also one of the main signs of its eloquence and not conforming to it is considered a defect which deforms such eloquence. for making the words' endings vowelless violate the structure of such eloquence and change it to ordinary discourse. arabic, however never make words' endings vowelless only when stopping. it never combines two vowelless endings, never starts with vowelless sound and never stops at a vowel . For words' endings in arabic are adjusted with either the relevant diacritic or with a vowelless mark according to the position of these words in the sentence. I have made such parsing marks as diacritical marks and their equivalent letters like 'alif', 'waw', and 'yaa' indicative of such adjustment . What encouraged me to write this paper entitled "the influence of parsing in identifying meaning" was the discussion that took place among the teachers of arabic at the institute concerning the nunnation of the word 'missr' in the holy qur'an-is it 'missr', the country itself, or 'missr', the territory? after examining the material in its context, I have noticed the way the meanings of these expressions change according to change of the movement of their parsing. this appears very clearly in the books of the qur'anic readings .for there were many researches about readings and their influence in identifying the meanings of the words' structures. this is a wide field which is as high as the academic theses themselves. but i have preferred to focus in this paper on specific expressions around which the paper has been centered. the paper sheds a light on parsing and its importance in changing the meanings of words. The paper is divided into five sections preceded by an introduction which deals with the linguistic denotation of parsing. while in the first chapter i have examined the function of the diacritic marks in the language. the second section focuses on the word 'missr' and the third on 'hamalatalhatab'. the fourth section, on the other hand, approaches the word 'ra'ina'. finally, the last section treats the word 'baa'adabeinadafa'taih.' I have in each section started establishing the origin of the word and relating it to its linguistic root from which it was derived. then a reference to the qur'anic use of such word has been made along with its reported readings as well. surely this gives a good impression of the paper, for it becomes clear that parsing has an influence on meaning representation implied in words themselves. If I am successful thanks to him, if I am not only me is blamed. I have tried to do my best only for the sake of god, himself is sufficient unto us.
