المستخلص: تعد الجامعات السعودية من أكثر الجهات المنتجة للمعلومات، من خلال ما ينشره أعضاء هيئة التدريس التابعين لها. وإتاحة ذلك الإنتاج الفكري على شبكة الإنترنت يمكن أن يكون داعماً لأهداف عدد من المبادرات العربية التي تدعو إلى إثراء المحتوى العربي الإلكتروني. وتعد جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية واحدة من أعرق الجامعات في المملكة العربية السعودية وأكبرها، ويتبعها عدد كبير من أعضاء هيئة التدريس لهم دراسات وبحوث كثيرة يمكن أن ترفع من نسبة وجودة المحتوى العربي إذا ما أتيحت بشكل إلكتروني ومجاني على شبكة الإنترنت. لذا فإن هذه الدراسة محاولة لاستكشاف اتجاهات أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية نحو النشر الإلكتروني لإنتاجهم الفكري على شبكة الإنترنت وبشكل مجاني لا يرتبط بالقيود المتعارف عليها في النشر التقليدي.

Saudi universities are one of the most producers of information through what is published by their faculty members. Providing this information on the web can be supportive of the objectives of many Arab initiatives that call for enriching the Arabic e-content. The University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University is one of the oldest and largest universities in Saudi Arabia. Faculty members in the university have a large number of studies and research that can increase the rate and quality of Arabic content if published for free on the Internet. This study is an attempt to explore their attitudes toward electronic publishing on the Internet for free without restrictions. The study concluded that there is awareness of the concepts of free access and the importance of publishing in the sources available on the Internet. The study also found that the faculty members think that publishing scientific studies on the Internet does not affect their value but increase the level of Arabic content in terms of quantity and quality. In addition, the result shows that the contribution of faculty members in the promotion of Arabic content on the Internet is not satisfactory because Arabic e-content has not yet crystallized its importance and confidence in terms of quality. The study also shows that the contribution of the university in supporting faculty members in order to enrich Arabic content is not satisfactory to some extent. Therefore, the university should provide enough facilities for encouraging faculty members for the dissemination of their studies free of charge on the site of the university.
